The practice nurses are available by appointment. Their work includes all routine nursing procedures, such as blood tests, removal of stitches, dressings, ear syringe (check with your doctor), immunisations and health assessments. They are particularly involved with monitoring of long term conditions, e.g. asthma, diabetes and heart disease as well as illness prevention by offering cervical smears, dietary and travel advice.
Jean has undertaken recognised training to allow her to take routine blood tests, dressings and ECG’s.

Our midwives work with the doctors to care for mothers before and after delivery. They run ante-natal and post-natal clinics along with the doctors. They also run Parentcraft classes for expectant mothers and fathers, and can be involved with the delivery of the baby.
